Sea Cat Woodworking

Building a clear brand foundation for a new custom cabinetry business

The starting point

Sea Cat Woodworking is a woman-owned studio designing custom cabinetry and built-ins for real homes.

When we began working together, the business was only a few months old. Our partnership focused on clarifying the brand, shaping a practical marketing direction, and creating photo and video content that reflected the care behind their work.

What they needed

Sea Cat had a strong craft and a thoughtful approach, but their brand was still taking shape. They were sorting through plenty of advice about what a new business was supposed to do, without much clarity around what actually fit their goals, clients, or capacity.

They needed more than a list of marketing tasks. They needed a clear sense of who they wanted to serve, what made their work distinct, and how to communicate that in a way that felt true to them.

Finding the direction

Together, we positioned Sea Cat as a design-forward, approachable cabinetry studio rooted in quality, collaboration, and thoughtful details.

The brand needed to feel polished without becoming cold, elevated without feeling out of reach, and warm enough to reflect the real homes and people at the center of the work.

That direction shaped everything from their messaging and audience focus to the style of their photography and video.

What we created

The project included:

  • Mission, audience, and positioning

  • Brand voice and visual direction

  • Competitor and content research

  • Social media guidance and content prompts

  • SEO basics and an action plan

  • Headshots and workshop photography

  • Website and social media visuals

  • Consultation and process coverage

  • Short-form video

  • Ongoing finished-project photography

Before each shoot, I reviewed where the content would live and what it needed to communicate. The goal was to show the finished cabinetry alongside the craftsmanship, process, collaboration, and care behind it.

The experience

The photo and video sessions were designed to feel natural and easy. Rather than asking the team to perform, I documented them working in their own environment and guided the process around what already felt comfortable and true.

“It was just us going about our day in our own environment.

We never felt pressured to put on a show, and the visuals feel very true to us.”

What changed

The immediate result was a stronger library of useful photo and video content. The deeper result was clarity.

Sea Cat left the process with a clearer sense of who they are, who they want to work with, what makes their approach different, and how they want the business to grow.

“The visual work was the most immediately helpful, but long term, the biggest value was the clarity.

Understanding who we want to be as a company helped guide all of the other decisions we made.”

- Olivia, Co-Founder

An ongoing partnership

Our work continues as Sea Cat completes new projects and grows its portfolio.

I return to document finished spaces, create new visual content, and help the brand stay connected to the same thoughtful direction we built from the beginning.
